Society Registration

Society Registration is ideal for groups or associations formed for promoting charitable, literary, scientific, or social objectives. Societies are commonly used to establish NGOs, educational institutions, cultural organizations, clubs, and welfare groups.

A society is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and requires a minimum of seven members. Once registered, the society becomes a legal entity capable of owning property, opening bank accounts, receiving donations, and entering into contracts.

The process involves drafting the Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Rules & Regulations, preparing identity and address proofs of members, and submitting the application to the Registrar of Societies. Registration helps build public credibility and makes the organization eligible for government recognition and tax exemptions under 12A and 80G.

Whether you’re forming a community group or launching a large-scale charitable initiative, society registration gives your organization a legal identity and framework to operate effectively and transparently.
